ACADEMIC CURRICULUM

The school is small and the needs of the individual are taken into account.
The school day is 8:30am - 4pm (3:15pm on Fridays)

Pupils sit GCSE exams and Btec Qualifications in years 10 and 11.
The school is a centre for Edexcel, AQA and OCR examination boards.

Academic subjects offered are English Language, English Literature, Science, Maths, French, Dance, Music, Art, Geography, History, RE, Information Technology, Careers, Enterprise, Citizenship and PHSE.

A school uniform list is sent out to successful applicants.

HOMEWORK

A reasonable amount of homework is set and this forms a compulsory part of the academic curriculum. All pupils have homework diaries.

MEETING AND REPORTS

There are two reports sent out each year and one parents' evening. There is a parents' page on our website that outlines the topics that are covered in all subjects each half term and gives advice on how parents can help their children with their studies.

SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

SETS does not have a SEN unit but all pupils are regularly assessed so that those who may require support are identified. The school has a list of specialist teachers who may be able to offer private tuition if parents request this.

SETS teachers will endeavor to ensure they take realistically appropriate action to address each individual pupil's needs.
