Admission to the school normally takes place at age 10/11 for entry into year 7. Admission at other ages may be possible, depending on availability of places.
Please complete the application form and return to the school together with the £25 audition fee, a copy of the applicant’s last school report and any other relevant information.
Auditions begin in November and run at specific times throughout the year. Places are offered on a first come first served basis. A full term’s deposit (non refundable) is required to secure the place. The school accepts 15 pupils per year.
At the audition, prospective pupils are given five minutes to show their talent to the panel of teachers. They can choose to sing, act, dance, play music or do anything that they feel they would like to show us. There is then a group performance workshop. Pupils may be asked to attend a second audition (no fee for this), which may include a written test.
SETS offers two scholarship places each year. Prospective scholarship pupils must first audition alongside fee paying pupils and if they get through the first round they can apply for a scholarship audition. Scholarship auditions take place in March. No fee is charged for this subsequent audition. Applications for the scholarship auditions must be on the scholarship application form and must be attached to the Dare to Dream Performers bursary application form. The competition is fierce but it is worth trying. The scholarship audition follows the same format as the regular audition.
SETS is committed to ensuring that its admissions procedure does not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnic origin, disability or gender. Candidates are selected on vocational aptitude. The panel’s decision is final
