SETS is one the few performing arts schools to have its own on-site theatrical agency. It is mandatory for all of our pupils to be in the agency as it allows them to gain professional experience in the business.
All our full time students must be included in “Spotlight” (The Actors Directory) which is published annually and circulated throughout the industry. Whilst at the school pupils are represented solely by Susi Earnshaw Management and are not permitted to be represented by any other Agency. They are not permitted to attend any ‘open’ or advertised auditions without prior knowledge and permission. Students or their parents must not take it upon themselves to phone Casting Directors directly as this is seen as being unprofessional. Anyone flouting the Agency rules may be asked to leave the school.
When arriving at an audition it is important that students are polite, punctual and 100% focused. It is up to you to make sure you are totally prepared. If you are asked to learn a script you must learn it. If you need to go through a script with a teacher there is always someone here at SETS to help you – just ask! Casting directors always give us feedback on auditions and they may refuse to see you again if you turn up unprepared.
The Agency expects you to:
Turn up on time – early is always good.

Enjoy it!
The Agency also organises work experience for all our pupils throughout the year and every pupil is expected to work a specific number of hours a year for The Bull Theatre and Dare to Dream Performers Charity either as a performer in the community, PR and marketing, front of house or backstage crew.
